Terms of use

Last updated 20 August 2026. Covers https://ryvakai.com, the account portal, and the RYVAKAI pre-alpha test builds.

The short version

  • The builds are free. There is nothing to buy and no subscription.
  • Stream it, record it, monetise the video. No permission needed.
  • Do not attack the servers, cheat against other players, or redistribute the build as your own.
  • It is pre-alpha software. It will break, and your save may be wiped.

What this is

RYVAKAI is an unfinished game in pre-alpha development, currently version 0.1.0-alpha.7. Test builds are provided free of charge for the purpose of testing. There is no store, no currency, no cosmetics and no payment path anywhere in this project, so nothing here is a purchase and nothing is a promise of a future product.

By downloading a build or creating an account, you are agreeing to these terms. If you do not, do not download it — there is nothing else you need to do.

Video, streaming and coverage

You may stream, record, broadcast and publish video of RYVAKAI, including monetised video, on any platform, without asking and without an embargo. You may use the concept art on this site in coverage of RYVAKAI.

Two requests, neither of them a condition: name the build version somewhere visible, because these builds change weekly and a viewer deserves to know which one they are watching; and describe the art as concept art rather than as gameplay, because it is.

What you may not do

  • Attack the infrastructure. No denial of service, no attempting to access accounts that are not yours, no exploiting the backend beyond the game. Testing for security flaws is welcome — report them in the Discord rather than using them.
  • Cheat against other people. Reverse-engineering the client for your own curiosity is fine and honestly quite interesting to us; using it to ruin a session someone else is in is not.
  • Redistribute the build as your own, sell it, bundle it into a paid product, or publish a modified copy that could be mistaken for an official one. Linking to this page is always fine.
  • Harass other players in any shared session or in the Discord.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Accounts can be suspended or removed for the things listed above; where it is not obvious why, we will say why. You can ask for your account and characters to be deleted at any time and it will be done.

Every administrative action taken on an account is recorded in an audit log, including who took it — that constraint exists to protect you from us as much as the other way round.

No warranty, and what that actually means here

The builds are provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. In plain terms: this is unfinished software that we are asking you to help test. It will crash, it has known defects listed on the download page, features described on this site may change or be removed, and your character data may be wiped between builds without notice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from using a pre-alpha test build. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

RYVAKAI, its name, world, characters, Techniques and artwork are original works and remain ours. RYVAKAI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or derived from any existing anime, manga or game franchise.

The game is built with Unreal Engine 5.8.1. Unreal Engine is a trademark of Epic Games, Inc., used under Epic’s licence terms. Third-party components in the project remain under their own licences.

Changes

These terms may change as the project moves out of pre-alpha. Material changes get a new date at the top and an announcement in the Discord. Continuing to use the builds after that is acceptance of the change.
